If you’ve got the hang of having your HVAC unit regularly serviced, then you will have no doubt got used to the routine. However, if you are new to having an HVAC unit, then here at A&E Air Conditioning and Heating we have some helpful tips for you to make the most of every service visit from a qualified HVAC technician or engineer.
- Check your notes
- It may be that you’ve noticed your energy bill has gone up, the system isn’t working as efficiently as usual, or there’s a strange noise coming from ‘somewhere’. Keep a little notebook by your main HVAC unit and then refer to it when we come out to visit. That way we know hat to target from the onset.
- Clear the way
- This is the one thing that many of our new clients forget to do. Often, not all of your HVAC system is easily accessible when you have your home furnished the way you want. However, we are always appreciative when our path to all elements of your HVAC system has been cleared. Don’t worry about any equipment for access, we come with all the necessary ladders, and will ensure that your home furnishings are always carefully protected when we are there.
- Do your housework
- We all have budgets and we are keen to reduce expenditure on property maintenance. That maintenance extends to your HVAC unit. If you want to keep your regular servicing bill down to a minimum, you can help us by making sure the main HVAC unit is kept clean. You can make it part of your regular housework schedule. This can extend as far as your HVAC ducting as well, though of course you have the option to include the cleaning of your ducting and HVAC unit as part of a regular maintenance contract.
If you haven’t already done so, get in touch with us and book your next HVAC check-up and if this is your first time, we’ll gladly talk you through your options before you make any firm decision.
